WORTH Braillers

The Perkins Brailler, designed and developed by David Abraham, has set the standard around the world for Brailling excellence since 1951. WORTH Braillers are the sole assemblers of the world renowned Perkins Braillers in collaboration with the Perkins School for the Blind, Watertown, USA. Presently components are imported and assembled by persons with disabilities trained in the USA. More than 100,000 Perkins Braillers have been assembled by us and exported back to the US as well as sold all over the world.
WORTH Braillers is accredited with ISO 9001 – 2008 – for its excellence in quality standards of assembly lines.

Assistive Devices

WORTH Trust produces various assistive devices essential for the education of children with visual disabilities at highly subsidized prices maintaining international quality standards and selling them within India and also exported worldwide. Some of the assistive devices are: The Braille Slate, Stylus, Abacus, Geometry sets, Universal Braille Kit etc.

Mobility Aids

WORTH Trust was producing wheelchairs and tricycles for its trainees and workers, who were differently-abled, thereby helping them to lead a normal and productive life. Later, when the Trust realized that there was a considerable demand for good quality and long-lasting mobility aids for differently-abled persons, it set up a dedicated workshop for manufacture of wheelchairs and tricycles in 1998. At this exclusive facility, several mobility aids for adults and children are being manufactured. All of them are ergonomically designed and suited to Indian conditions and available at a reasonable price.
The Mobility Aids include Wheelchairs, Tricycles, Walkers, Crutches, White Canes, etc. which are made by persons with disabilities themselves.

The Universal Braille Kit (UBK)

The UBK has been conceived and developed by Vidya Vrikshah, a non-profit trust in Chennai as a basic solution to enable any literate person, preferably the mother, to impart braille based basic literacy to the blind child, even at home and even at the pre-school stage. It comprises of devices designed to help the blind to learn to form braille letters, words and sentences, write, learn normal handwriting, basic arithmatics and drawing. The Kit is made to International standards by WORTH Trust.
